Andrea Gabert assists the firm in U.S. and foreign patent prosecution in areas related to chemistry, including organic materials and chemistry, chemical processes, polymers, pharmaceuticals, and devices. Representative Matters
  • Worked with inventors, professors, and research scientists in reviewing invention disclosures and preparing the related patent applications.
  • Assisted with freedom to operate and patentability studies in numerous fields including biomedical applications and chemical processes, and aided in the preparation of an invalidity opinion.
  • Assisted in creating strategies for developing patent portfolios for clients in numerous fields, including chemical processes, pharmaceuticals, and food analysis.
  • Aided in the evaluation of a complex patent portfolio for a large pharmaceutical client.
Previous Experience

Andrea received her doctorate degree at MIT under the supervision of Prof. Richard R. Schrock, Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, 2005. Her doctoral research included organometallic catalysis and the synthesis and characterization of chemical compounds and polymers. More specifically, her research focused on the synthesis of triblock copolymers containing liquid crystal mesogens and their application as devices.

Before entering graduate school, Andrea participated in the cooperative education program at her undergraduate institute. Her research experience through this program included food product testing, organometallic research, and the development of drug analysis methods.
