David Wolf

David Wolf has over 50 years experience in IP law, including extensive trial and appellate experience in patent, trademark, and copyright litigation, and appearances before the U.S. Supreme Court and federal courts throughout the country. He also has expertise in handling large patent and trademark portfolios and licensing for a variety of the area’s leading corporations.

David has been on the faculty of the ABA Trademark Trial Advocacy Program and the Massachusetts Bar Association Institute, testified as an expert in several patent cases, and served as an arbitrator in various intellectual property right disputes. He has also been a guest lecturer at Boston College Law School and Franklin Pierce Law School.

Representative Matters
  • Successful appearances as lead counsel before U.S. Supreme Court in landmark Aro patent case.
  • Designed and implemented trademark portfolios for major corporations, including one of the country's largest retailers.
  • Served as lead counsel in defense of one of the first patent jury trials in the Northeast.

David has repeatedly been named in Boston Magazine as one of Massachusetts’ "Super Lawyers" in the field of intellectual property law and has also been repeatedly named Best Lawyers in America.

Also Noteworthy

David holds over 18 patents in the electrical and mechanical arts. He also is a water color artist whose works have been exhibited in various art shows.

David was the Managing Partner of the firm for approximately 30 years and thereafter served on the firm's Executive Council. His annual summer training course, "Think Like a Lawyer", has been singled out by summer associates as a highlight of their summer experience with the firm.
