Edward F. Perlman

Ed Perlman has over 30 years experience in patent and trademark matters with a primary focus on trademark and branding issues worldwide, including the selection, clearance, prosecution, enforcement, and litigation of trademarks and trade dress for companies of all sizes. He has particular expertise in the development of patent and trademark licensing strategies, including the negotiation and preparation of license and other proprietary agreements.

Representative Matters
  • Assisted numerous start-ups and corporations of all sizes in the selection, adoption and protection of brands, some of which are now famous, in the U.S. and in foreign countries.
  • Added both legal and business value to a variety of patent and trademark license agreements.
  • Handled numerous trademark inter parte disputes, both in the U.S. and in foreign countries. 
Previous Experience

At the beginning of his legal career, Ed was a Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Division for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
