Erik Spek
Erik Spek assists the firm in patent prosecution in the biochemical, biomedical, and pharmaceutical industries.
- Worked on diligence projects in biotech and diagnostics space.
- Drafted and prosecuted patent applications in therapeutic antibody space.
- Assisted in managing patent portfolios of small and mid-size biotech companies.
Before joining the firm, Erik was a scientist at Cell Signaling Technology, developing new tools for cancer research and proteomics technology.
Prior to working in industry, Erik was a Postdoctoral Associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Division of Biological Engineering, where he investigated the molecular mechanisms of DNA recombination and carcinogenesis. His doctoral work focused on stabilizing secondary structures in peptides and proteins.
