Heather J. DiPietrantonio
Heather DiPietrantonio assists the Biotechnology Group with patent prosecution. Her areas of expertise include genetics, molecular biology, developmental biology, and immunology.
Prior to joining Wolf Greenfield, Heather was a Scientific Advisor and Patent Agent at Frommer Lawrence & Haug, LLP in New York, NY, where she prepared and prosecuted patent applications, conducted patentability, invalidity, and freedom to operate studies, and was involved in life cycle management of a variety of intellectual property portfolios.
Heather conducted her postdoctoral work in Carol Mason’s laboratory at Columbia University in New York, NY, where she employed molecular and genetic tools to investigate retinal axon growth and guidance mechanisms in the visual system.
For her graduate studies, Heather joined the laboratory of Susan Dymecki at Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. Her research there focused on cellular and molecular mechanisms of stem cell fate and neuronal axon guidance in the developing brain stem. She developed a method combining RNAi and in utero electroporation to assay gene function in the developing brain. During her time at Harvard, Heather co-authored several publications in leading scientific journals including Neuron and Neuroscience.
