Jennifer J. Wang
Jen Wang assists the firm with patent prosecution in the areas of mechanical arts and medical devices.
Jen worked as a Mechanical Engineering intern in the R&D department of Abiomed, Inc, where she conceptualized, constructed and tested prototypes of novel cardiac assist devices. She also designed and built a flow loop to simulate physiological conditions for prototype testing. In addition, Jen conducted extensive prior art searches for the project to prevent IP infringement.
Jen received her engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Biomechanics. During her undergraduate studies, Jen worked on several biomedical-related projects. For her senior design project, she worked in a gait and motion analysis lab to design a musculoskeletal model for a trip detection system in prosthetic limbs. She also worked on a bioimaging project at the Baylor College of Medicine, where she developed MATLAB programs and methods to improve the image quality and acquisition speed of Optical Coherence Tomography for noninvasive, 4D imaging of early cardiac development. In addition, she worked on an independent study project in a tissue engineering lab developing biocompatible scaffolds for cartilage regeneration.
