John R. Van Amsterdam
John Van Amsterdam specializes in patent prosecution, patent interferences, counseling, and intellectual property transactions in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and molecular biology. His areas of expertise include protection of therapeutics and diagnostics for cancer, neurodegenerative disorders and metabolic disorders, antibody technologies, new medical uses and formulations of known compounds, and nucleic acid sequencing and detection technologies.
After earning his Ph.D., John was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Bristol-Myers Squibb Pharmaceutical Research Institute in Princeton, NJ, where his research on fos family proto-oncogenes examined the effects of gene disruption on embryonic stem cell differentiation and mouse development.
