Lisa W. Martin
Lisa focuses her practice on U.S. and international trademark counseling, prosecution, and proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. She directly counsels and advises clients and foreign associates on a wide range of intellectual property matters including branding strategies, pursuing and resolving trademark and copyright infringement, right of publicity, licensing issues, and domain name disputes. She also negotiates and drafts intellectual property agreements, including licenses, coexistence and settlement agreements, and assignments and asset purchase agreements.
- Negotiates transfer of intellectual property rights for both buyers and sellers.
- Provides strategic advice on development and management of trademark portfolios.
- Provides due diligence on intellectual property matters for acquisition of assets.
- Advises companies on trademark usage, adoption, clearance, packaging, protection, and infringement.
Prior to joining the firm, Lisa worked as a legal intern with Staples, Inc., of Framingham, MA, where she drafted alliance contracts, assisted in litigation preparation, and reviewed the use of trademarks for all advertising, marketing, and promotional materials.

Lisa was an All-American swimmer, a member of the University of Southern California women’s swimming and diving team, a member of the U.S. Swimming National Distance Team, and the winner of a record seven gold medals at the 14th Maccabiah Games in Israel.
