Randy Pritzker’s legal experience covers the full spectrum of IP issues, including patent and trademark portfolio management, complex litigation, due diligence, licensing matters, patentability, infringement, and other opinion matters, and related counseling. He has represented clients in industries such as electronics, software and other computer-related fields, telecommunications, optics, defense, and consumer products.
Among Randy’s many high-profile clients are major consumer products companies, electronics and software companies, defense contractors, VCs and other investors, academic institutions, and start-up companies. Randy is also actively involved in Boston’s venture capital community.
- Provided strategic advice on the development and management of patent portfolios to help large electronics and software companies present a significant entry barrier to competitors. These companies include Microsoft Corporation, Sony Corporation, Analog Devices, Inc., and L-3 Communications Corporation.
- Managed major patent litigation for large multinational companies, including development of trial approaches and settlement negotiations.
- Counseled venture-backed companies on ways to protect their primary technology and reduce infringement risk, positioning them to raise capital and achieve desired exit strategies.
- Advised major consumer products company on product clearance, third-party contested matters, and patent protection issues.
- Developed cost-effective, three-step audit process for counseling investors and acquirers on evaluating the IP positions of companies in which they may invest or seek to acquire.
