Robert M. Abrahamsen
Bob Abrahamsen’s practice focuses on the enforcement and defense of intellectual property rights. Bob is knowledgeable and experienced in the fields of patents, trademarks, trade dress, unfair competition, copyrights, and trade secrets. He has assisted clients in a variety of industries including circuit design, X-ray imaging, e-Commerce, Internet conferencing, remote control systems, wire and cable design, juvenile products, and fitness monitoring equipment.
Bob has extensive experience in preparing and prosecuting both domestic and foreign patent applications, primarily concerning innovations in the electronic, software, and mechanical arts.
- Obtained eight-figure settlement of multi-patent dispute between two major competitors in the growing field of computer-based technologies.
- Obtained summary judgment of non-infringement of two patents on electronic cable designs.
- Obtained summary judgment of invalidity of asserted claims of a patent covering a mobile X-ray imaging system based upon prior offer for sale contained in patentee’s government development contract.
- Assisted start-up company in developing IP strategy and portfolio to protect groundbreaking innovations in fitness monitoring equipment that ultimately formed the basis for successful large-scale product launch by Fortune 100 company.
- Assisted major electronics companies in developing IP strategies and portfolios to protect innovative features of new products.
- Obtained five-figure settlement payment for a tenant facing eviction proceedings for non-payment of less than $300 by aggressively pursuing several counterclaims.
Prior to joining the firm, Bob was employed as a Digital Engineer for Dynamic Science, Inc., a military contractor at Vandenberg Air Force Base, CA, where he designed and implemented communications equipment used to support missile launches.
