Bob Hunt provides full service IP counseling, including patent preparation and prosecution, product design and development consultation, patentability studies, infringement and validity opinions, license negotiations, and offensive and defensive consulting in matters involving patent litigation.

Bob represents a range of clients and industries, including consumer products, medical devices, semiconductors, and electronics industries. He also represents clients in areas such as electromechanical devices, robotic systems, and communication systems.

Bob has assisted clients in adversarial situations by providing advice on negotiation and settlement tactics and written opinions when required.

• Provided defensive opinions (noninfringement and validity) for major semiconductor manufacturing equipment client for use in active litigation matters against several companies.
• For major consumer products company seeking to enter a competitor’s market, conducted six month study to identify blocking patents and then guided company through design process so resulting product would stand up to litigation attacks.
• For major medical device client looking to purchase a particular technology, led IP diligence on assessing potential acquisition targets, simultaneously guiding client through an internal design process to develop similar patentable technology.
• While performing a targeted infringement clearance study relating to a different feature of a client’s product, discovered an infringement issue which was resolved with a change in design in under two weeks.
• During routine diligence within a client’s market place, detected an infringing product of a major competitor.

Before joining Wolf Greenfield, Bob was in private practice in Virginia.
