William R. McClellan
Bill McClellan’s practice involves counseling, opinion work, and patent prosecution relating to high-tech and electronic industries. His technical areas of expertise cover medical devices and instruments, optics and lasers, computer hardware and software, and semiconductor processing equipment.
- Provided invalidity and non-infringement opinions to a European manufacturer to enable entry into the U.S. market and to facilitate a deal with a major pharma company.
- Performed patent analysis and filed an application for reexamination of an adverse party's patent for a large semiconductor company involved in patent litigation, resulting in a favorable settlement.
- Advised semiconductor equipment companies on product clearance, patent opinions, and patent protection matters.
Prior to entering private practice, Bill was corporate patent counsel to Varian Associates, Inc. and GTE. He was involved in the areas of digital and analog electronics, semiconductor processing equipment and microwave equipment.
