Y. Jenny Chen
Jenny Chen focuses her practice on U.S. and foreign patent prosecution, opinion work, and counseling clients in the areas of biological, medical, and pharmaceutical sciences. She has worked on projects related to diagnosis and treatment for various diseases and disorders, vaccine technologies, drug discovery, antibiotic biosynthesis, medical implants, gene- and cell-based therapies, pharmaceutical formulations, and herb extracts.
- Assisted leading academic institution in securing patent protection for diagnostic test expected to be used on millions of patients in determining risks for adverse drug reactions.
- Prosecuted patent applications in areas of diagnostics, therapeutics, and pharmaceuticals in early phases of development.
- Conducted freedom-to-operate analysis in connection with client’s contemplated generic drug marketing
Prior to joining the firm, Jenny was an associate at Occhiuti Rohlicek & Tsao, LLP in Cambridge, MA, a law clerk and associate at Fish & Richardson, PC., Boston, MA, an intern at a pharmaceutical company, and an intern at Great Boston Legal Service.
Jenny was previously a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Dr. David Hafler at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. Her research focused on T cell activity in autoimmune diseases such as Type I diabetes. Jenny received her Ph.D. degree from Baylor College of Medicine, specializing in molecular biology and pharmacology.
