Docket Navigator lists Rich Giunta among the busiest attorneys at the PTAB

Docket Navigator recently listed Rich Giunta as one of the top attorneys at the PTAB, as measured by the number of IPR, CBM and PGR proceedings in which he represented litigants in 2016. He handled 36 of these proceedings last year, putting him in the top 20 of those practicing at the PTAB.

Rich serves as chair of the firm’s Post-Grant Proceedings Practice, which has an outstanding track record of success for both patent owners and petitioners. The PTAB has been a very favorable forum for those challenging patents, as it institutes trials on about 70% of all challenges. Wolf Greenfield’s patent owner clients have fared far better—of the 11 petitions filed against our patent owner clients in 2016 that the PTAB has ruled on, 10 were denied or dismissed. Conversely, the PTAB ruled on 25 petitions for Wolf Greenfield clients challenging patents in 2016 and granted institution on 100% of those petitions. The firm recently obtained a groundbreaking win for client University of Florida Research Foundation, the latest in a growing list of “firsts” achieved on behalf of clients.
