PRESS RELEASE — Top Litigator Allen Rugg joins Wolf Greenfield
April 17, 2008We are pleased to announce that Allen Rugg, a seasoned litigator, has joined Wolf Greenfield as a shareholder in our Litigation Group. Allen’s arrival brings the group’s total to 21 attorneys.
Allen has more than 30 years’ experience in complex litigation. He has tried more than 60 cases to verdict or judgment in state and federal courts and has argued successful appeals to federal appellate courts in several circuits. Allen has handled many high-stakes cases, including successfully opposing a $120 million damage claim against a semiconductor manufacturer in a patent infringement case, securing a defense verdict and a $12.5 million counterclaim settlement for bad faith litigation in a $37 million insurance fraud case, and winning a $23.8 million jury verdict in a trade-secret and breach of contract action against a national credit-reporting company.
Allen was formerly a partner in the litigation department of Powell Goldstein LLP and managing partner of its Washington, DC office. He received his bachelor’s degree from The George Washington University and his law degree from The George Washington University Law School.
