Wolf Greenfield Attorney Recognized for Pro Bono Service by Women’s Bar Foundation

February 21, 2013

Wolf, Greenfield & Sacks, P.C. is pleased to announce that Chelsea Loughran has been awarded the Volunteer Attorney Award Winner for Winter, 2013 by the Women’s Bar Foundation. Chelsea is being recognized for her pro bono work with victims of domestic violence.

The Family Law Project, a program of the Women’s Bar Foundation, seeks to provide pro bono legal services to low-income domestic violence victims, empowering them by giving them a voice in their efforts to obtain abuse prevention orders and assisting with their family law cases. The program hopes to prevent further abuse, homelessness and loss of child custody, while also endeavoring to decrease repeated court hearings for victims.

Chelsea is being honored for stepping in immediately to the aid of her client who is battling a severe and rare form of cancer and is fighting to secure assets for her children during a difficult divorce proceeding. Less than one week after taking the case, Chelsea was in court on her client’s behalf to ensure that her client obtains a fair divorce proceeding and an expedited division of marital assets, given the severity of her client’s diagnosis.

Chelsea Loughran is an avid volunteer in the Boston community representing several pro bono clients through local organizations.
