Financial Analyst

The Financial Analyst will assist with the analysis of the financial data of the firm. This person will provide support for the design and implementation of financial/accounting/budget systems and reports. The Financial Analyst will work with the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis and the Senior Director of Finance on strategic, broad-impact financial analysis, reporting and systems development.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain financial records and journals
  • Prepare and distribute periodic reports
  • Assist in the preparation of summaries of financial performance indicators
  • Assist in the annual budget preparation process
  • Respond to ad hoc reporting requests
  • Monitor expense vs. budget and business plan / objectives and projections
  • Prepare statistical and narrative variance reports
  • Assist with the submission of data for benchmarking surveys
  • Assist with the preparation of profitability data
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree along with up to 3 years applicable experience in  professional services
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to juggle changing priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to compile, analyze, interpret, and present complex financial reports, statements, and/ or projects
  • Financial reporting experience in law firm or other professional services organization
  • Demonstrated expertise with reporting tools, e.g., OLAP
  • Experience with expense budgeting
  • Experience with variance analysis
