International Filing Paralegal

Wolf Greenfield has an excellent opportunity for someone interested in breaking into the Intellectual Property field as an entry-level International Filing Paralegal. The International Filing (IFD) Paralegal will work with the International Filing Department to assist in providing firm-wide support and service for foreign patent prosecution.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Files Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), National Phase, Design and US National applications; maintains all types of foreign patent application from filing through grant. Corresponds with foreign associates regarding new filings and existing patent applications
  • Monitors deadlines for assigned caseload and prioritizes work accordingly to ensure that all foreign deadlines are satisfied
  • Reviews incoming correspondence, confirms docketing, processes invoices, and reports to client as required
  • Completes all responsibilities in compliance with the firm's policies, processes and procedures
  • Assists with maintenance and quality control of digital files for assigned caseload
  • Assists with opening of new patent matters via eWorkflow and submission of eWorkflow updates for patent matters
  • Assists other paralegals within group, as required
  • Meets a billing goal of 1000 hours annually

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS/BA with a preference of professional services internship experience
  • Must possess excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Must be able to work as a team member and to work independently
  • Must be attentive to detail, able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and able to prioritize tasks
  • Strong analytical thinker
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Strong competency with MS Office
