Client Husky Named 2016 ACC Value Champion
Wolf Greenfield is pleased to announce that our client, Husky Injection Molding Systems Ltd., has been named a 2016 ACC Value Champion by the Association of Corporate Counsel.
A component of the ACC Value Challenge, which promotes reconnecting the cost and value of legal services, the ACC Value Champions initiative recognized Husky as one of 12 corporate legal departments and law firm collaborations that delivered substantial value to their client organizations by cutting spending, improving predictability and achieving better outcomes.
Husky was honored for its IP management efforts, which it termed a “holistic strategy,” to optimize the management of its rapidly-growing intellectual property assets, assess and value risk, and align IP with the company’s business interests—all on a global scale and with improved prediction of associated costs.
This innovation and efficiency gain was also recognized by Inside Counsel
, which in 2012 named Husky one of the 10 most innovative legal departments in the U.S
Wolf Greenfield is proud to have assisted Husky with auditing its holistic strategy, working closely with Rick Musgrave, Global Director, Legal & Intellectual Property.
“At the direction of Husky’s VP of Corporate Services & General Counsel, Michael McKendry, we implemented a holistic strategy and as a result we’ve been able to better manage our legal budget while ensuring our resources are allocated to the IP issues that matter most to us,” said Musgrave. “Wolf Greenfield, and in particular Neil Ferraro and Jason Honeyman, played an instrumental role in helping us achieve that balance, and continues to assist us in aligning our IP management with our business goals.”
ACC received 57 nominations from law departments and law firms with at least one year of results tracking. The complete list of the 2016 ACC Value Champions, along with additional details related to Husky’s award, can be viewed here
