Wolf Greenfield Supports Women's Bar Foundation at Comedy Night Gala

On May 19, 2016, more than 20 attorneys and technology specialists from Wolf Greenfield attended the Women’s Bar Foundation’s Comedy Night gala. The firm was proud to support the WBF’s annual fundraiser, which helps ensure access to justice for low-income women through the organization’s free civil legal services.

Every year at the gala, the WBF bestows an award on an attorney who has gone above and beyond in providing pro bono assistance to WBF clients. Beginning this year, the award will be named for Nery Arrano, a former pro bono client of Wolf Greenfield Associate Chelsea Loughran (herself a prior recipient of the award). The 2016 Nery Arrano award was presented to Patricia Levesh, Managing Attorney of the Family Law Unit at Greater Boston Legal Services, who was recognized for her long-standing commitment to assisting low-income survivors of domestic violence through the WBF’s Family Law Project for Battered Women. Patricia served as Chelsea’s mentor on Nery’s case.

Before the award was given, Wolf Greenfield Shareholder Mike Rader addressed why the firm recently formed a partnership with the WBF. “The answer is simple,” he said. “There are many people in Boston, and everywhere, who unfortunately are in pain. The Women’s Bar Foundation gives us an opportunity and a framework within which to help.”

The WBF raised more than 40% of its operating budget at the event. To learn more about the organization and how you can help, click here.
