Wolf Greenfield Again Raises More Than Any Other Firm for GBLS Associates Fund Drive

We are pleased to announce that we recently wrapped up successful fundraising and volunteering campaigns for Boston and New York-based non-profits and community groups. Good Deeds Month is an annual philanthropic initiative for Wolf Greenfield that promotes community engagement and charitable giving, and includes supporting the Greater Boston Legal Services (GBLS) Associates Fund Drive.

This year, Wolf Greenfield raised over $90,000—a new firm record—to support the work of GBLS on behalf of domestic violence survivors. The drive benefits the GBLS Family Law Unit, which provides legal assistance and representation to low-income survivors of domestic violence to restore them and their children to an economically sustainable life free of abuse. Led by Wolf Greenfield attorneys Stuart Duncan Smith, Sardiaa Leney, Ethan Marks and Eric Rutt, every Boston-based associate, counsel and technology specialist at the firm contributed, with the firm’s shareholder group providing matching funds. For the seventh year in a row, Wolf Greenfield raised more than any other participating law firm. In total, the drive raised over $500,000 for GBLS.

In addition, nearly 100 firm employees participated in a variety of campaigns and events designed to enrich the communities in which they live and practice. Throughout the month, volunteers from the Boston office painted and landscaped at a Habitat for Humanity build site in Dorchester, Massachusetts, and sorted donation items at the Greater Boston Food Bank and Cradles to Crayons, an organization that provides local children with the essentials they need to thrive at school, at home and at play. The office also donated summer supplies for children—swimsuits, beach towels, sandals and hats—to the Asian Task Force Against Domestic Violence.

Volunteers from the New York office worked with Project Sunshine on an event called Sending Sunshine and created 200 personalized care packages and craft kits for pediatric patients. Wolf Greenfield employees also raised nearly $1,000 for the American Heart Association through the Lawyers Have Heart 5K, an annual fundraising event held in Boston.

“Wolf Greenfield’s leadership in this drive is a point of great pride for our firm,” said Mike Rader, chair of the firm’s Charitable Committee. “The 100% participation rate among our associates, technology specialists and counsel, and the matching funds provided by our shareholders, are a concrete representation of the deep commitment of all our professionals to ensuring uniform access to justice.”
