Wolf Greenfield Continues Growth of New York Office With Addition of Three Attorneys

Wolf Greenfield has added further depth to its New York office with the addition of Robert Maldonado, Tonia Sayour and Norman Zivin as Counsel. Robert and Tonia join the firm’s Trademark & Copyright Practice and Norman joins the firm’s Litigation Practice. All three come from Cooper & Dunham, where Robert spent 27 years, Tonia spent 17 years and Norman spent over 50 years.

Robert Maldonado works with patent, trademark and copyright clients on enforcement and defense of their intellectual property rights. Robert has a particular focus on litigation, including patent, trademark, copyright, false advertising and unfair competition matters in federal court. He has extensive litigation experience at both the trial court and appellate court levels, as well as before the Patent and Trial Appeal Board (PTAB) and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB). He also oversees his clients’ entire portfolios of patents and trademark registrations. Robert’s clients, which span from startups to global corporations, rely on him for his strategic counseling. He is active in the legal community, with leadership roles in organizations such as the Hispanic National Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the LGBT Law Association Foundation of Greater New York, Inc.

Tonia Sayour counsels clients in all areas of intellectual property law, with a particular focus on trademarks and copyrights. Her clients span from startups to nationally known companies across a multitude of industries. Having litigated over fifty cases in jurisdictions around the US, representing both plaintiffs and defendants, Tonia also focuses her practice on litigation. In addition, she is a registered patent attorney and has significant experience preparing and prosecuting patents and trademarks for her clients. Tonia is actively involved in the intellectual property community, serving as a member of several organizations and speaking on topics related to IP law.

Norman Zivin focuses on intellectual property litigation, including patent, trademark, copyright and unfair competition cases. He has tried numerous cases in federal courts around the US, both before juries and judges, and has argued dozens of appeals in the Federal Circuit and other courts of appeal. In addition, Norman has handled hundreds of contested Patent and Trademark Office proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB). With a distinguished career that spans over five decades, Norman’s clients rely on him for his extensive experience across all intellectual property areas. In addition to his active litigation practice, Norman regularly counsels clients on patent and trademark prosecution matters.
