Wolf Greenfield Announces New Program to Foster Diversity & Inclusion Work

Furthering its unwavering commitment to diversity and inclusion, Wolf Greenfield has introduced its Diversity & Inclusion Billable Hours Program, which will go into effect on September 1, 2022.

The plan allows associates, counsel, and technology specialists to earn up to 100 qualifying diversity hours that will count towards their annual billable hours requirement. The qualifying activities include:

  • Committee work or leadership relating to inclusion and diversity in an external legal professional organization
  • Actively collaborating with clients on diversity and inclusion initiatives
  • Leading or presenting at a diversity CLE or training program
  • Participating in a mentorship program with a firm DEI partner organization

This program is just one initiative of the firm’s wider D&I Strategic Plan aimed at growing diversity and inclusion efforts by setting diverse hiring and retention goals, promoting a collegial and familial atmosphere, mentoring new team members, and leveraging external partnership opportunities. In September of 2021, Wolf Greenfield also joined Diversity Lab’s Midsize Mansfield Rule – the goal of which is to boost the representation of historically underrepresented lawyers in law firm leadership by broadening the pool of candidates considered for these opportunities.

“Our hope for the D&I Billable Hour Program is to ensure that attorneys and technology specialists can make a positive impact by participating in internal and external diversity and inclusion activities while also strengthening their legal and leadership skills,” said Jas Lee, a shareholder in Wolf Greenfield’s Chemical & Materials Technologies Practice and Head of the Diversity Committee.
