Joshua Brandt focuses his practice on US patent prosecution, counseling and contract work in the biotechnology space. He calls upon extensive knowledge and nearly 10 years of experience in transactional matters as well as advising organizations on issues related to commercial interactions, intellectual property, research endeavors, and strategic planning.

Prior to joining Wolf Greenfield, Joshua was associate Counsel at the University of Massachusetts, where he advised the five campuses on all issues and agreements related to IP and research.  In addition, Joshua was with Partners HealthCare as a senior licensing manager, where he advised on and structured strategy for the Massachusetts General Hospital, the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and the Spaulding Rehabilitation Network on their commercial relations and interactions for the advancement of medical and biological treatments.

Joshua has extensive experience advising on technology commercialization strategies for large and small entities, including drafting and negotiating a wide array of agreements such as clinical trial agreements, license, confidentiality, research, collaboration, joint intervention, distribution, financing, and consulting agreements, with a specific expertise in patent license agreements, research agreements, and agreements with academic, not-for-profit, and governmental entities.  His experience includes technical areas such as gene therapy, diagnostics, drug development, and medical devices, including medical implants.
