Gita Chimalakonda focuses her practice on US patent prosecution and counseling in the biotechnology space. She has extensive knowledge in the areas of molecular biology, cell biology, immunology, genetics and biochemistry.

Most recently, Gita was a law graduate at Foley & Lardner and prior to that, she was a patent agent at Ropes & Gray. She has prepared and prosecuted patent applications for a variety of biopharmaceutical clients in a wide range of technologies such as vaccines, antibody and protein therapeutics, and gene editing. She has also assisted with landscape, patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.

Gita’s doctoral work focused on understanding outer membrane biogenesis in Gram-negative bacteria using genetic and biochemical approaches.
