Katy Hwang assists the Biotechnology Group in patent prosecution. Prior to becoming a Technology Specialist, Katy helped form the biotechnology patent paralegal group at the firm. She developed and expanded training materials for the position and assisted with the hiring and training of new paralegals. While at Dartmouth, Katy worked on an engineering design project directed to reducing waterborne diseases in Haiti such as cholera and dysentery, addressing waste management in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. As an undergraduate, she worked on a small-scale community research project with Guillermo Perez-Perez regarding the correlation of Helicobacter pylori and hepatitis.

Katy has volunteered at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston (Condon Club and West End House).

She also played field hockey and ran track for Vassar College and played rugby for Dartmouth College. She enjoys swing dancing, squash, crocheting, and the outdoors.
