Overview

Jas Lee works with clients in IP strategy development and execution, including IP portfolio management, US and foreign patent prosecution, non-infringement and invalidity opinions, and due diligence. She counsels a variety of clients including start-up companies, large global corporations, venture capital firms, and academic institutions on US and international patent issues.

Jas has a broad technical background including experience in the areas of microfluidics, medical devices and diagnostics, drug delivery, bioreactors, cleantech technologies, electrochemical devices (lithium batteries), nanotechnology, microfabrication, materials chemistry, organic chemistry, and pharmaceuticals.

Jas particularly enjoys helping start-up companies identify their most valuable IP and best strategies to protect them. She has served as a judge for the MIT $100K competition for several years. She has also been a guest lecturer at an entrepreneurship class at Harvard.

Jas performed her doctoral work under the supervision of Professor George Whitesides at Harvard University. Her doctoral thesis focused on the design, fabrication, and testing of integrated microfluidic systems for chemical and biochemical assays using soft-lithography. She also studied the compatibility of mammalian cells on polymer surfaces and self-assembling systems in fluids.

Jas serves as chair of Wolf Greenfield’s Diversity Committee.

Client Testimonials

We were very impressed with Jas. She came out of the same laboratory at Harvard as the co-founders. For managing the IP portfolio, having someone that has a shared background and understands what we are trying to do is a real boon for us.

Jas has always been conscious of cost and time constraints and consistently delivered excellent work. I would recommend her and her firm over any other intellectual property attorney I have worked with in my career.

I have worked with Jas for over 10 years, from early stage, through venture financing, exit, and integration and growth with the acquirer. I consider her a member of our team and her depth of knowledge surrounding our technology and the space we operate in has grown to match that of our own staff.

Jas Lee does an extremely good job with following through and understanding what we are doing. We just went through a very convoluted process, and she helped us work through all of the details and we got very good results.

Jas has been very proactive with office actions. She chooses the right to go back and talk to examiners, and that’s been very helpful. She’s been very smart with that, and I’ve been surprised how effective that has been.

An enormous part of my satisfaction has to do with the level of work and quality of the work from Jas.

Jas is very knowledgeable and great at getting to the heart of a matter.

Jas has been absolutely exceptional. Very smart, very clever, very fast, very communicative.
